Governor Mitt Romney Speaks Onboard Yorktown

Waring Hills Oct 07, 2011

Republican Presidential candidate Governor Mitt Romney speaks at Patriots Point.

Every Presidential campaign since 2000 has brought candidates for President to the USS Yorktown for photo and speaking events. Yesterday, former Massachusetts’ Governor Mitt Romney spoke to a small group of veterans on the USS Yorktown at Patriots Point at 2 PM. He was introduced by former Patriots Point CEO, Rear Admiral James H. Flatley, III, USN (Retired), and former Citadel President, Lieutenant General Claudius “Bud” Watts, USAF (Retired). Governor Romney delivered a short talk on the importance of the military to America and stated that if elected President of the United States he would build a larger Navy and increase the number of active duty personnel in our armed forces. The assembled veterans were attentive and appreciative of his talk on the importance of our nation’s military as evidenced by the applause given to Governor Romney’s remarks.
